Netzwerkgruppe sucht Nachwuchs

Du willst wissen wie Internet wirklich funktioniert? Du gibst dich nicht damit zufrieden, dass Internet einfach aus der Wand kommt? Du willst wissen was diese magische Box bei dir zu Hause eigentlich alles macht? Du wolltest schon immer mal mit Servern rumspielen hast aber keine Server zum rumspielen? Das alles und noch viel mehr kann man bei der Netzwerkgruppe lernen und tun. Wir betreiben mehrere Server sowie zig Switches und unzählige Access Points im Haus um alle Bewohner mit Internet zu versorgen. Wir sind wie die anderen Gruppen Teil der studentischen Selbstverwaltung und machen unsere Arbeit freiwillig, ehrenamtlich und unbezahlt.

Wir suchen Menschen,

• die Lust und ein wenig Zeit haben, sich für die Netzwerkgruppe zu engagieren
• die Spaß haben an Technik
• die wissbegierig sind und das Netzwerk verbessern wollen
• anderen in der Sprechstunde helfend zur Seite stehen wollen

Wir bieten:

Es ist von Nutzen (aber nicht notwendig), wenn du etwas technisches studierst oder dich schon mit Linux/Unix auskennst. Wenn du bestimmte Sachen lernen möchtest, sind wir auch offen für neue Ideen und geben wenn möglich gerne Hilfestellungen.

You want to know how the Internet really works? You are not satisfied with the Internet just coming out of the wall? You want to know what that magic box in your house actually does? You always wanted to play with servers but do not have any to play with? All that and a lot more you can do and learn in the networking group. We operate multiple servers, dozens of switches and countless access points to provide internet to all inhabitants. Like all the other groups we are part of the student self administration and do our work voluntarily, honorarily and unpaid.

The networking group consists like all other groups in the OPH of inhabitants of our dorm. We manage the internal network voluntarily, honorarily and unpaid. Because some of us will grauduate in the upcoming terms and therefore move out, we search for new people for the networking group.

We are looking for people

• who are willing and have a little time to get involved with the networking group
• who like technology
• who are eager to learn and want to improve the network
• who want to help others at the help desks

We offer

• many nice colleagues in the networking group
• interesting network technology to care about and to experiment with
• possibilities to learn and earn experience with professional technology
• chances to get to know a lot of inhabitants of the dorm
• regular social meetings with the networking group
• volunteering and work experience for your CV
• extension of the rental contract by one year if you have been active with us for one year

It is helpful (though not mandatory), if you study some technical field or already know some things concerning Linux/Unix. If you curious to learn something particular, we are open for new ideas and will help you as much as possible.
